On the downside, the sword fit too tight into the scabbard and I had a lot of trouble drawing it. Also, the blade isn't quite razor sharp, but very close. It still cuts quite well with a little effort. The blade is very strong and solidly in place with few scratches. The handle and scabbard are also sturdy and the deep red finish on the wood looks fantastic. Well worth $50.
