Musashi Mother of Pearl Bamboo Phoenix Katana

Mother of Pearl, the Phoenix & Bamboo katana easily stands out in a crowd. The reason for it being called the Mother of Pearl is because the Mother of pearl is painstakingly inlaid on both sides of the saya forming a bamboo and flowers pattern. Completely smooth, the pattern is under the glossy stained burgundy lacquered finish scabbard. No two swords are the same! The phoenix tsuba is hand polished to create a two-tone finish. All matching  Phoenix and Bamboo fittings! The thick blade is forged from High Carbon Steel using the traditional Muku-kitae method. The hamon and 55 HRC blade hardness are formed with the water temper process which includes both side blood grooves for easy balancing. During production the blade is hand honed for an impressively sharp edge, inspected and polished, and coated with protective oil. These models come with a highly detailed copper tsuba and brass fuchi and kashira. Formed using an engraved gold plate, the fittings are then hand aged for highlights. Other details include a hardwood handle with real ray skin, tight brown authentic leather wrapping, and hardwood saya with stained burgundy paint finish and hardwood display box with yellow velvet inlay. The sword also includes a free sword cleaning kit and cotton sword bag. The outer box is all black with silver dragon and flower design. The saya also the traditional bull horn sageo over the kurikata with brass fittings.
