Ichigo Tensa Manga Functional Sword

this is my first sword and I got to say this is one of the best hundred bucks I've ever spent. For mega bleach fans such as myself it will and is the best bleach accesory to get. And for sword collectors or non sword collectors it still a great purchase. And for the ones that say that the chain hurts when you swing the sword then this all I have to say to you, suck it up man!!!!!!!

Just ordered it, and from the reviews, I have high expectations. I am a die-hard Ichigo fan and a sword collector, just starting out. I hope to have the sword with-in the next week or two, then will give my opinion.

The Good: The sword doesn't look like the picture, but it's very beautiful; even more-so that the picture gives it justice. It does have tight fittings, and a decently long full tang, well oiled, and my inspection didn't detect rust. It did, however, fail the paper-cutting test, so it's not as sharp as they appearently claim. It's actually very practical, and it's bendable (thought difficult), meaning it IS probably made with 1045-1060 high carbon steel. It doesn't wobble, or rattle when shaken; it's very, very sturdy in its own right. Oh, and that stand is very sturdy if you set ot up right. The Question: If anyone else has bought this sword, or if the swordsswords.com workers could provide me with information on weither or not it is heat-treated, I'd love to know. It appears to be, though, considering I can flex it a decent distance without the curve staying. As of truely knowing if it IS heat treated, well, I don't rightly know. The Bad: It comes with a few nicks in the paint, but if you have choiji oil, I suggest wiping off the old oil and spray painting it again, with high-gloss jet black spray paint, with proper set-up and usage. Also, the same, or ray skin, isn't real. Then again, when did you ever see a red stingray? The chain can also be a little painful when swung roughly, or used. The Verdict: Overall, excellent sword, for display or practical use, but it may not be considered a REAL sword, simply because it may not be heat-treated...but it might be, I don't know. Definitally a katana worth its money, espically when the price is THIS low. Weither you are a Bleach fan or just a fan of black swords, you may love this katana straight from the box. (...and the box is a very good presentation I might add...) Hope this review helps your decision.

I purchased my sword a while ago but after seein' all the reviews I had to write one too. What can I say the sword is great, yeah it did kinda irritate me that the black finish came come off rather quickly when practice swinging but as a person who is quite familiar with their weapons I was really satisfied. Now if they can only get Ikkaku Madarame's released zanpakto on the site then i'll never stop coming back.
