This is the Burgundy Orchid Samurai Katana. The handle of the sword is constructed from wood with an imitation ray skin Same and a black cord Ito. The Menukis of the sword are golden dragons. The handle is a long handle style to maximize power. The Habaki of the sword is golden steel. The guard is blackened steel with a golden Orchid on each side. The scabbard of the sword is wooden with a burgundy lacquer finish and features hand carved orchid trees. The end cap of the sword is a golden Orchid. A black cord sage-o has been tied around the wooden Kurigata of the scabbard. The scabbard throat is steel with another golden Orchid. The blade of the sword is 1060 High Carbon Steel with an aesthetic hamon down the edge of the blade. This sword is also double pegged (full tang). The blade comes sharpened with blood groove and Japanese inscriptions which says "Orchid". It includes a black sword bag with sword bag with yellow orchid tree imprints.

At one point in Japan's history it was forbidden for anyone not of the Samurai class to own an Orchid. One of the reasons that the Samurai have always been closely associated with this flower is the similarity between the Orchids life and that of the Samurai. Both the warrior and flower live very short but beautiful lives (if you consider dying by Seppuku beautiful).
